If you’re ever in or around the Twickenham area, be sure to pay Le Salon Privé a visit. This cosy French brasserie consistently serves up great classics that will leave your taste buds satisfied for days to come.
We are promptly seated in one of the 2 private dining rooms available, an intimate setting to celebrate dear friends’ birthdays. Champagne all ’round as we cheerfully toast the occasion. Shortly after, bottles of red and white move across the table. I go for the Picpoul – great choice!
My usual pick of scallops (£11.50) to start. Seared perfectly on a bed of cauliflower puree. An interesting pairing with boudin noire (blood sausage) but it works! And the crunch of the toasted hazelnuts topped off the dish nicely.

Fresh pieces of crab meat made up the well executed rillettes (£10.50) – sweet, delicate and tasted almost like the crab had just been plucked out of the ocean.

The mains were absolutely mouthwatering! Tender chunks of roast wood pigeon (£19.95) served with sweet swede puree, all brought together by the rich, savoury pearl onion and mustard sauce. The balance of flavours were on point!

Luscious saddle of lamb (£21.50) perfectly cooked pink, with roast pumpkin and mushrooms make for a delectable combination.

The chocolate fondant (£8.00) was too tempting not to order. Soft and gooey on the inside – heavenly!

An amazing dining experience with every dish executed magnificently, made even more special with thoughtful and friendly service.
Food + drinks + service = £80-90pp. On the pricey side, but worth it!
Till next time…Outskies!
